FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons placed rookie offensive tackle Michael Thompson on injured reserve Tuesday and signed offensive lineman Evan Pilgrim.
Thompson, a fourth-round draft pick from Tennessee State, tore his right Achilles' tendon in the first quarter of Sunday's 13-6 loss to the New York Giants.
Pilgrim, who played at BYU, originally signed with Atlanta last November but was cut during training camp Aug. 28. A third-round draft pick of Chicago in 1995, he played three years with the Bears and one with Tennessee before joining the Falcons.
