"Rocker has the last laugh." On Sept. 27 that was the headline on some of the New York newspapers. Now the sports reporters and pundits, including Rick Dorsey, should bury their heads in the sand.
The Big Apple, New York City, with its large population, crime and unsavory conditions stand out more - that also exists in other cities.
John Rocker only told the truth. What is that saying? "The truth shall make you free." In spite of all his bad publicity, to me he has that All-American spirit.
In his adversity, he stood on the mound and pitched baseball, as the press taunted him, Mets fans booed him, threw garbage and beer bottles at him. He pitched his fast ball and struck out their beloved Mets.
Good luck, John, keep up your good work. Control the words coming out of your mouth, and if you keep finding the plate when you pitch, you should make it to baseball's Hall of Fame.
