A look at the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (3-2, 1-2 ACC) three days before they play host to Wake Forest (0-5, 0-3) on Saturday (noon, Fox/SS):
It's homecoming for the Jackets against lowly Wake Forest. Georgia Tech has won four of the past five and eight of the past 11 with the Demon Deacons.
Wake Forest has 11 quarterback sacks in its first five games this season. That total could increase if Georgia Tech doesn't protect quarterback George Godsey.
Wake Forest beat the Jackets last year by running straight up the middle. Georgia Tech ranked 89th against the run, allowing 183.2 yards per game. In five games this year, Tech ranks ninth nationally against the run, surrendering only 2.2 yards per carry and 80.2 yards per contest.
"I think George is playing to his max. All he does is make plays, and that's the sign of a quarterback doing his job. What potential he's given to us on field, he keeps getting better and better each game. We've just got to keep him from getting hit so much. If we do that, we'll be OK." -- Georgia Tech coach George O'Leary, on Godsey.
