Mrs. Staretha Larke

JACKSON - Mrs. Staretha A. Larke, 77, of Broom Lane, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m.Wednesday at Paine College Gilbert Lambuth Chapel, Augusta, with Dr. Nathaniel Irvin Sr. officiating. Burial will be in St. Catherine's Christian Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Larke, a native of Allendale, was a homemaker and a member of St. Catherine's Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, where she was a communion stewardess and a member of choir.

Survivors include her husband, Alvin Larke Sr.; five sons, Alvin Larke Jr., College Station, Texas, Charles Larke, Augusta, Johnnie Larke, Hephzibah, Warren Larke, Jackson, and George Larke, Wagener; three daughters, Shirley Johnson, Jackson, Emma M. Morris, North Augusta, and Teresa L. Pope, Aiken; three brothers, Warren Aaron Sr., Jackson, and James Aaron and Franklin Aaron, both of Augusta; two sisters, Florence A. Maris, Augusta, and Janet A. Cofer, North Augusta; and 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Albert Larke Jr., Warren Aaron Jr., Alton Rouse, Dwayne Cofer, Calvin Jones, Haywood Aaron III, Barney Chavous and Matthew Miller.

Friends may call at the residence or at Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home, Aiken.
