ALBANY, Ga. - Mr. James W. "Jim" Hicks, 68, of Christopher Cove Road, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 11 am. Wednesday at Hall & Hall Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Haefs officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at 3 p.m. at Corinth Cemetery, Hogansville.
Mr. Hicks, a native of Warrenton, had retired from the Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He also had retired from Miller Brewing Co. He was founder of Southwest Georgia Voicemasters Laryngectomy Club and was a member of IAM Local Union 2699 and Mercedes Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jewel Hicks; a son, Tony Hicks, Statesboro; two daughters, Jackie Beckum, Reidsville, and Elaine Langham, Thomson; three stepsons, Roy Head and Charles Head, both of Savannah, and John Marty Head, Albany; a stepdaughter, Julie Head, Albany; a sister, Geneva Coxwell, Bennettsville, S.C.; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
