With Troy State losing over the weekend, Georgia Southern vaulted back into the No. 1 ranking in both the Sports Network and ESPN/USA Today Division I-AA polls.

Georgia Southern quarterback J.R. Revere has thrown five touchdown passes in the Eagles' past two victories over Chattanooga and VMI.

Analysis:

Once again, junior fullback Adrian Peterson is close to settinga national record. Peterson needs 22 points to tie former New Hampshire running back Jerry Azumah's NCAA Division I-AA career points record of 418. Peterson broke Azumah's touchdown record of 60 last Saturday in a 56-3 victory over VMI.
