Mr. Leon Thompson



AVERA, Ga. - Mr. Leon Thompson, 84, of Edgehill Road, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at James Funeral Home, Wrens, with the Rev. Brian Hand officiating. Burial will be in Wrens Memorial Garden, Wrens.

Mr. Thompson, a native of Jefferson County, had retired from Amoco Fertilizer as plant manager and was a farmer. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Iveleyn Dixon Thompson; three sons, Sherwin Thompson and Larry Thompson, both of Avera, and Darrell Thompson, N.C.; a daughter, Charleen Boyd, Wrens; three brothers, Clifford Thompson, Macon, Wesley Thompson, Orlando, Fla., and Jimmy Thompson, Thomson; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Thompson, Terry Thompson, Mike Thompson, Johnny Thompson, Jamie Thompson and J.D. Chapman.
