Mrs. Ida Slaughter

BATON ROUGE, La. - Mrs. Ida Beatrice Bettis Slaughter, of 77th Avenue, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church of Scotlandville with the Rev. Herman Pride officiating. Burial will be in Southern Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Slaughter had retired as a schoolteacher and was a member of Delta Sigma Theta and First Presbyterian Church of Scotlandville.

Survivors include four sons, James Slaughter and Carl Slaughter, both of Baton Rouge, Ronald Slaughter, Huntsville, Ala., and Maurice Slaughter, Chesapeake, Va.; a brother, Leroy Bettis, Maryland; and a sister, Edna Bettis, Trenton, S.C.

Winfield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

G.L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary, North Augusta, is in charge of local arrangements.
