TRENTON, S.C. - Mr. Donald R. Simpson, 58, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Napier Funeral Home, Graniteville, with the Rev. Gene O. Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Graniteville.
Mr. Simpson, a native of Langley, was a lab technician at University Hospital, Augusta, and was a member of Star Masonic Lodge 99, where he was treasurer and former master, Sixth Masonic District, where he was former district deputy grand master, Ancient Free Masons of South Carolina, Scottish Rite, York Rite and Order of the Eastern Star. He was Baptist.
The family said: "He was a true friend and was well-liked by all whose lives he touched. He will be greatly missed."
Survivors include two sons, Christopher Simpson, Augusta, and David Simpson, Trenton; a daughter, Donna Simpson, Columbia; two brothers, Tommy Simpson, Chapin, and Kenneth Merritt, Maine; a sister, Joyce Simpson Kemp, Augusta; and three grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Star Masonic Lodge 99.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
