BLACKVILLE, S.C. -- Blackville-Hilda beat the weather and Elloree 24-14 to improve its record to 3-2 Monday night.
The game was originally scheduled for last Friday night, but was postponed because of Tropical Storm Helene. Another storm front moved through the area after Blackville posted the victory Monday.
Fourth-quarter touchdowns by Wilburn Johnson, on a 47-yard run, and Jahmel Riley's interception return for two yards, put Blackville-Hilda up.
Johnson finished the game with 87 yards rushing on 13 carries to lead Blackville-Hilda. Quarterback Maurice Williams was 6-for-9 passing for 103 yards and one touchdown.
