A look at No. 2 Georgia Southern (3-1, 2-0 Southern Conference) four days before they play host to VMI (0-4, 0-2) on Saturday (1 p.m.):
After playing what head coach Paul Johnson called "the team's most complete game of the season," Georgia Southern gears up for lowly VMI. The Eagles look to continue a 25-game home-winning streak and a string of 13 straight home conference wins.
VMI has never beaten the Eagles in seven meetings.
Georgia Southern accumulated 568 yards of total offense -- 386 on the ground and a season-high 182 passing yards. If the Eagles do that Saturday, they could put VMI away by halftime.
"That was a tribute to the offensive line. I think they finally got tired of reading the newspapers. Too many times, they're told that this offense starts with the quarterback and fullback, but that's not the case. It starts with the line." -- Georgia Southern quarterback J.R. Revere, on the team's offensive performance against Chattanooga.
