Mr. Nathan Baskin Brown Sr., 76, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Starling-Hatcher Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Hassell officiating. Burial will be in Pierce Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Brown, a native of Lincoln County, was an Army veteran of World War II and had retired as a postmaster. He was chairman of CSRA Federal Credit Union. He was a member of Downtown Kiwanis Club, Methodist Men's Club, League of Postmasters, National Association of Postmasters, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and Pierce Memorial United Methodist Church, where he was a member of administration council.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Brown; a son, Nathan Baskin Brown Jr., Valdosta; a daughter, Susan Brown Moore, Canton, Texas; a sister, Jeannine Gooding, Appling; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Randy Gooding, Glenn Gooding, David Gibbs, Charles Bagbey, Rodney Dye and Paul Dye.
Memorials may be made to Pierce Memorial United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
