ROME, Ga. - Mr. David Carl Dupeire Sr., 52, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000.
The funeral will be at 7 p.m. today at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Andrews officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Westover Memorial Park, Augusta.
Mr. Dupeire, a native of Murphy, N.C., was a Coast Guard veteran and vice president and investment officer for State Mutual Insurance Co. of Rome. He was a former employee of Georgia Railroad Bank Loan Department, Augusta, and former president of First Union Bank of Waynesboro and First Union Bank of Rome. He was director of the board of Floyd College Foundation, YMCA, Exchange Club's Family Resource Center for Child Abuse Prevention, Star House and Heart of the Community. He was chairman of Heart House of Rome Building Committee and a member of Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee, Rome Rotary Club and Calvary Baptist Church of Rome.
Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Diane Chappell Dupeire; four sons, David Dupeire Jr., Knoxville, Tenn., and Joseph Dupeire, Bradley Dupeire and Jordan Dupeire, all of Rome; two brothers, Lawrence Dupeire, North Augusta, and Jerry Dupeire, Jackson; a sister, Lisa Abbadusky, Jackson; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ed Templeton, Tommy Dixon, Jimmy O'Neal, Andy Kingery, Jimmy Duncan and Mark Mobley.
Memorials may be made to Exchange Club of Rome Family Resource Center for Child Abuse Prevention; to Heart House of Rome Heart of the Community Foundation; or to American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
