Mr. Rufus Taylor Sr., of Branch Street, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Beulah Grove Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Roland Smith officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
Mr. Taylor, a native of Burke County, was an Army veteran of World War II and had retired as a truck driver from civil service.
Survivors include his wife, Lavonnia Taylor; five sons, Rufus Taylor Jr., Bayshore, N.Y., Gregory Taylor, Petersburg, Va., Jerome Taylor, Augusta, Barry Howard, Hephzibah, and Kenny Redfield, Philadelphia; seven daughters, Robbie Mae Banks, Pohokee, Fla., Dorothy Coxson and Bessie M. Taylor, both of Augusta, Queenie Brown, Jacksonville, Fla., Martha Newton, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Estelle White and Wilhelmina Williams, both of Waynesboro; two brothers, Robert Taylor Jr. and Jessie Taylor, both of Augusta; and 27 grandchildren.
