Georgia Southern Eagles
A look at the Eagles four days before they travel to Chattanooga (7 p.m.):
The No. 2 Eagles (2-1) return to the stadium where they captured the Division I-AA title last year. The Eagles are 12-1 against the Moccasins in a series that dates back to 1984.
Georgia Southern leads the Southern Conference in pass defense, yielding 162 yards per game. Chattanooga's Chris Sanders leads the conference, averaging 364.7 yards per game.
Georgia Southern has to improve on limiting its turnovers, or the Eagles could find themselves struggling against the much-improved Moccasins.
"I'm not nearly as talented as Jerry Rice. I'm not as fast. But when you have great people around you, it enables you to have a day like this." -- Chattanooga receiver Cos DeMatteo after catching a national-record six touchdown passes in a 72-17 victory over Mississippi Valley State, Rice's alma mater, on Saturday. Rice shared the previous record of five TD catches in a game.
