Well, it looks like the king will be wearing his new clothes to Vietnam according to the commentary I read in The Chronicle's Sept. 7 editorial.
It seems that our blunt smoking president has seen fit to fly our country's flag below a foreign nation's. Maybe he can take Hanoi Jane along to hoist up the Commie flag as they sail into the Gulf of Tonkin and bring along a few more liberal Democrats to burn Old Glory as they dock in the harbor.
To make the trip even more productive they should take some hard drives with good old national defense secrets to sweeten the pot.
Our country's flag means a lot to me. I have never served in the Armed Forces, but I have great pride and respect for the men and women who fought and died to defend our country's flag, and freedom. This should be a wake-up call for all. Despite all our differences, we are all Americans and it's time to take our country back from the likes of Bill Clinton and Al Gore.
But I guess I forgot one thing: A flag has no sense of honor or pride for all liberals and most Democrats; they only vote for who will give them the most handouts and to finance nonsense like this trip to Vietnam.
