Mr. William C. "Smitty" Smith, 75, of Augusta, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at W.H. Mays Mortuary with the Rev. Charles E. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Walker Memorial Park.
Mr. Smith, a native of Augusta, had retired from the Air Force and was a veteran of World War II. He had retired as Cottage Life director at Youth Development Center.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Desmukes, Washington, D.C.; and three sisters, Mattie Webb, Clara Desmukes and Susie Scott, all of Washington.
Pallbearers will be Ellis M. Johnson, Henry C. Jordan, Melvin Tanksley, Richard Hill, John Packett III, Melvin Thornton, Milton Wilson and Walter Bennett.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Air Force Ceremonial Detail.
