LOUISVILLE, Ga. - Mr. Saint Elmo Rooks Sr., 89, of Clarks Mill Road, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, at Doctors Hospital, Augusta.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Walden United Methodist Church, Avera, with Dr. William Warnock and the Revs. Race Larisey, Joe Walden and Doug Mays officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Rooks, a native of Jefferson County, had retired as a farmer and carpenter. He was a member of Walden United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mamie Ruth Wilson Rooks; a son, Saint Elmo Rooks Jr., Ellenwood; five daughters, Carolyn R. Williamson, Augusta, Emily R. Petrosina, Oceanside, Calif., and Barbara R. Mims, Mabel R. Unruh Ensz and Patricia J. Rooks, all of Louisville; and 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Simeon Ledbetter, Darryl Unruh, Ashley Mims and Garrett Southwell.
James Funeral Home, Wrens, is in charge of arrangements.
