ESTILL, S.C. - Mrs. Margaret "Peggy" Lawton, 82, of North Lawton Avenue, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, at her residence.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at Estill Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Frank Sells officiating. Burial will be in Black Swamp Cemetery, Garnett.
Mrs. Lawton, a native of Johnstown, Pa., was president of American Legion Auxiliary and was a member of Historical Society, Music Club and Estill Book and Study Club. She was active with Hampton County Arts Council. She was a member of Estill Presbyterian Church, where she was a pianist and president of Presbyterian Women.
Survivors include two sons, Brewtie Lawton, Grovetown, Ga., and Russell Lawton, Charleston; a daughter, Dori Lawton, Belcamp, Md.; and two grandchildren.
