Regarding the Aug. 21 letter from H. Golabchi of Martinez: She was responding to my letter, published on Aug. 16, in which I charged Texas Gov. George W. Bush lacked the experience to be president.
Ms. Golabchi asked, "What kind of experience did Bill Clinton have when he took office??
Here's my answer. Clinton was governor of Arkansas a lot longer than Bush has been governor of Texas and he was also Arkansas' attorney general. Furthermore, I never said Clinton had a surplus of experience when he became president, but simply that Bush has a lack thereof.
Besides, Clinton is not running and has no place in this race except to support his vice president.
