HEPHZIBAH - Mr. Alford Earl "Al" Russell died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road, with the Rev. Ed Kvietkus officiating. Burial will be in Dixon Community Cemetery, Philadelphia, Miss.
Mr. Russell, a native of Union, Miss., had retired from the Army as a captain. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, Good Conduct Medal 3D Award, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Meritorious Service Medal. He was employed at Taylor Toyota for several years.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Ray Russell and Robert Wayne Russell, both of Augusta, and William Earl Russell, Springdale, Ark.; his mother, Emma Russell, Philadelphia; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
