SALISBURY, Md. -- The streak goes on for the Augusta GreenJackets.
The GreenJackets needed 11 innings Sunday night, but they came away with a 3-1 victory, their seventh in a row. With Savannah idle, Augusta now leads the South Atlantic League Southern division by 4' games with eight games remaining.
Augusta moves on to Charleston, W.Va., to open a four-game series with the Alley Cats before returning home to close out the season with four games against Hickory over the weekend.
Delmarva, which was in the thick of the Northern division second-half flag chase, dropped four in a row to the Jackets. The Shorebirds now trail Piedmont by 3' games.
The GreenJackets had plenty of bat power Sunday night, banging out 13 hits, but managed to score only three runs -- one in the fourth inning and two more in the top of the 11th to get the victory.
Carlos Rodriguez and Drew Larne each had three hits for the GreenJackets.
Bryan Leach struck out the side in the 11th inning to register his 39th save, allowing Alex Solan to get his third victory.
