Mr. Reuben Garrard



LINCOLNTON, Ga - Mr. Reuben Richard Gerrard, 85, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2000, at Twin View Health Care Center.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Lincoln United Methodist Church with the Revs. John W. Pike Jr. and John Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Garrard, a native of Wilkes County, was an Air Force veteran of World War II and a soil conservationist with U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was a member of American Legion Post 1894 and Lincolnton United Methodist Church, where he served as treasurer.

Survivors include a son, Richard M. Garrard, Swainsboro; a daughter, Barbara G. Lyons, Swainsboro; two brothers, George Garrard, Washington, and William Garrard, Cornelia; a sister, Mary G. Webb, Doerun; and a grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Dwaine Biggerstaff, Charles Estes, John Hawkins, William Ivey, Edward Turner and Charles Ware.
