Mr. Marvin G. "Billy" Bain, 74, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road, with Dr. Timothy Owings officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park.
Mr. Bain, a native of Attala County, Miss., had retired from the Army and was a veteran of World War II and the Vietnam and Korean wars. He had retired from Busby's Heating and Air Conditioning Co. and was a member of Hephzibah Masonic Lodge and Carson Ridge Baptist Church, Ethel, Miss.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby DeLong Bain; two sons, Jerry A. Bain and Larry R. Bain, both of Augusta; two daughters, Nancy C. Epps, Lincolnton, and Peggy R. Ruiz, Augusta; two stepsons, Robert M. DeLong and Jed E. DeLong, both of Augusta; a stepdaughter, Karen S. Rowell, Beech Island; a sister, Mamie Shelley, Kosciusko, Miss.; and 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
