Mr. Pierce Luke Sr., 81, of Rosemont Road, Appling, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Second Mount Carmel Baptist Church with the Rev. Alexander Ingram officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Luke, a native of Columbia County, had retired as a truck driver. He was a member of Second Mount Carmel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Luke; three sons, Pierce Luke Jr., New Britain, Conn., and John Luke and James Luke, both of Appling; four daughters, Emma Rolland, Appling, Mary Alice Hood, Chicago, Louise Jackson, Harlem, and Willette Dunn, Martinez; four stepsons, Williams Burns, Clarence Burns, Jerry Burns and Eric Burns; three stepdaughters, Willette Headen, Willie Mae Dent and Louise Childs; and 38 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Carl Luke, Larry Luke, David Cummings, Wayne Dunn, Thomas Luke and George Luke.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons.
