Mr. Jack Grant Sr.



NORTH AUGUSTA - Mr. Jack E. Grant Sr., 81, of Bluff Avenue, died Tuesday, July 18, 2000, at University Hospital, Augusta.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pineview Memorial Gardens with the Revs. Walter E. Newman and Clifton Stancel officiating.

Mr. Grant, a native of Augusta, was an Army veteran of World War II and had retired as a firefighter for the City of Augusta. He had retired as a police officer from the city of North Augusta and was a former corrections officer with Aiken County. He was a member of Arcadia Masonic Lodge 315, Scottish Rite, Augusta, and First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Baker Grant; two sons, Jack E. Grant Jr., Appling, and Donald Grant, North Augusta; three daughters, Shirley Grant Cozart and Angell Grant Poston, both of North Augusta, and Marie Grant Mathis, Aiken; a brother, Ralph Grant, North Augusta; and nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Grant, Mickey Cozart, Reid Wales, Chuck Grant, Gregg Grant and Troy Milam.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home.
