WASHINGTON, Ga. - Mr. Charlie Robert Thornton Sr., 76, of Wheatley Road, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at Wills Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rehoboth Baptist Church with the Revs. Herman Bradley and Jim Edwards officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Thornton, a native of Wilkes County, had retired as a logger and was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma C. Thornton; three sons, Eddie Waynes Thornton and Daniel Lee Thornton, both of Washington, and Bobby Thornton, Thomson; two sisters, Frankie Thornton Carter, Washington, and Ruby T. Adkins, Warrenton; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Williams, Greg Williams, Stanley Wheatley, David Tyler, Douglas Wheatley, T.J. Clark and Bob Oxidine.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hopkins Funeral Home.
