SALUDA, S.C. - Mr. William Elmore Edwards, 81, of Trinity Road, died Sunday, July 9, 2000, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Red Bank Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Edwards, a native of Saluda County, was an Army veteran of World War II where he earned two Purple Hearts. He had retired as a brick mason and farmer. He was a member of Saluda County Coonhunters Association and Red Bank Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Leona Trotter Edwards; a son, William Leon Edwards, Saluda; two daughters, Mildred Evans, Columbia, and Dianne Yawn, Saluda; a brother, Robert Edwards, Titusville, Fla.; a sister, Margurite Butler, Saluda; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
