AVERA, Ga. - Mr. Jerold Evans Poole, 75, of Usry Mill Road, died Sunday, June 18, 2000, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Donald Lumpkin and David Davis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Poole, a native of Jefferson County, had retired as a store owner. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and a member of choir, the building committee and the men's Sunday school class.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Poole; a son, Stanley Evans Poole, Grayson; a daughter, Anita Rollins, Avera; two brothers, William Billy Poole, Augusta, and Donald Don Poole, Gibson; a sister, Audrey P. Williams, Louisville; and three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Louie Chalker, Howard Clark, Albert Padgett, R.L. Thigpen, Chester Radford, Verlon Downs, Russell Callaway and Sam Hadden.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the men's Sunday school class and deacons of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
