CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Mr. James Murphy "Jim" Sechrest, 84, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital, Asheville.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Derita Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Catherine Northrop officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park.
Mr. Sechrest, a native of Charlotte, had retired as Derita station manager from U.S. Postal Service and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Derita Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Sechrest; a son, Robert Sechrest, Bremerton, Wash.; two daughters, Pattie Worrick, Hephzibah, and Terry Herron, Charlotte; a brother, Tracy Lee Sechrest, Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Betty Sechrest, Daytona Beach, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
