Mr. Carl Charter



HEPHZIBAH - Mr. Carl J. Charter, of Spanish Trace Drive, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Church of the Atonement, Augusta, with the Rev. Kurt D. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens, Augusta.

Mr. Charter, a native of St. Georges, Grenada, had retired as a radiologist from Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, Manhattan, N.Y., and was an Air Force veteran. He coached Little League baseball and was a member of Dazzlers soccer team and Church of the Atonement.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Charter, Laurelton, N.Y.; a son, Jeffrey Carl Charter, Fort Detrick, Md.; a daughter, Carleen Charter, Laurelton; his mother, Beatrice Charter, Augusta; four brothers, Neil Steele Hempstead, Long Island, N.Y., Keith Charter, San Antonio, Lloyd Charter, Augusta, and Bernard Charter, Texas; a sister, Janette Is Charter, Augusta; and a grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Williams Funeral Home.
