Water lines would relieve crisis

I hear there is a water shortage. Fire the mayor, fire the commissioners, fire everybody involved in Columbia County, too. While you are at it, fire God.

I am 79 years old and have seen this coming since the 1970s. A big help would be interstate water lines, so flood waters could be transferred where they could be used. I have written every president since Ronald Reagan and every senator since Sam Nunn.

Per-capita water use is increasing steadily. Population is also increasing. Our lakes and rivers only have so much water in them. Columbia and Richmond counties are not the only ones involved.

This becomes more of a national concern every day. Instead of firing, let's try to come up with some answers. I will guarantee it won't be just for our county or one community.
