Those two Georgia representatives, Ben Harbin, R-Evans, of the 113th and Robin Williams, R-Augusta, of the 112th, are really something else. Each voted to spend our lottery money to provide HOPE Scholarships to convicts while serving time in jail.
When asked about their votes, Rep. Williams replied, "I made a mistake." Rep. Harbin's comment was, "I was not paying attention." With that kind of irresponsibility, is it any wonder that people want them gone now?
I certainly hope that true Republicans run against them in the July 20 primary so I can vote against that pair. Hopefully, a majority will share my view so that we will be rid of Reps. Harbin and Williams once and for all.
