BRUNSWICK, Ga. - Mr. Horace Lee Batts Sr., 97, of Wildwood Drive, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, at Sunbridge Nursing Home.
The funeral will be at noon Saturday at Eden Baptist Church, Louisville, with the Revs. J.L. Hampton and J.O. Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Batts, a native of Jefferson County, had retired as a farmer and was a member of Bethel Benevolent Society and Georgia Farm Bureau. He was a member of Eden Baptist Church, where he was a trustee, treasurer and former chairman of the deacon board.
Survivors include three sons, Julian Asberry, Washington, Hosea Asberry, Fort Washington, Md., and Willie Asberry, Wrens; a daughter, Willie Mae Batts, Brunswick; a sister, Rhodia Merriweather, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and trustees of Eden Baptist Church.
Friends may call at the residence of Willie Asberry, 409 Stephens St., Wrens.
Garrer Funeral Home, Louisville, is in charge of arrangements.
