GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Led by Tommy Faulk and Kevin Kisner, South Aiken stormed to a 17-shot lead after 36 holes in the S.C. Class AAAA high school golf tournament Thursday on the Furman University course.
South Aiken has a team total of 602 for the first 36 holes of the 54-hole tournament. The final 18 holes will be played today. North Augusta was second at 219 with Easley another shot back at 620.
Faulk and Kisner each had 36-hole scores of 149, and teammates Alex Hamilton and Dane Burkhart were at 152.
Greenwood's Emmett Turner is the individual leader at 139. His closest competitor is Easley's Matt Giffin at 147.
North Augusta won the Region 3-AAAA championship last week, with South Aiken second. Kisner was the region medalist.
South Aiken won the Joe Wyatt Invitational three weeks ago and was runner-up in the Southern Cross tournament a week later.
