I'm an old World War II veteran. I was with Audie Murphy and a lot of other young men of the 3rd Infantry Division.
I saw a lot of courageous acts by Audie and others on Anzio and elsewhere, but nothing to compare with the Reno Storm Troopers. Why, they tore the door off and with their machine guns went in and grabbed that dangerous 6-year-old boy, and pulled him out of there crying and half scared out of his mind.
That took some real nerve. All at 5 o'clock in the morning.
This is exactly what America fought against in World War II: Gestapo secret police.
Sleep well, folks.
