Miami stops Georgia Tech

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Danny Matienzo went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI to lead Miami in a 7-5 win over Georgia Tech Monday night.

Kevin Mannix also homered and had two RBIs as the Hurricanes (32-16-1) scored twice in the seventh and eighth innings to overcome a 5-3 deficit.

Miami reliever Luke DeBold (4-2) earned the win, pitching 1 2/3 scoreless innings.

Georgia Tech reliever Kevin Cameron (4-2) took the loss after giving up three runs on two hits and two walks in two innings.

Georgia Tech (38-13) took a 4-3 lead in the fifth, taking advantage of two Miami errors and a wild pitch to score two runs on no hits. The Yellow Jackets scored another unearned run an inning later.

Miami tied the game on Matienzo's two-run homer in the seventh then went ahead in the eighth on Mannix's solo home run.
