GROVETOWN - Mr. William S. "Bill" Marsh, 63, died Friday, May 5, 2000, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity-on-the-Hill United Methodist Church with Sam Pursley and the Rev. Glenn Ethridge officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Trenton, S.C.
Mr. Marsh, a native of Augusta, had retired from Richmond Supply Co. He was an Army veteran and a graduate of Sparta High School and The Citadel. He was a 1996 inductee into The Citadel Baseball Hall of Fame and a member of Trinity-on-the-Hill United Methodist Church.
The family said, "He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and an avid sportsman, Ph.D. in hunting and fishing."
Survivors include his wife, Diane Glover Marsh; three daughters, Bonnie M. Whittle, Appling, Pam M. Hargrove, Grovetown, and Jennifer M. Oellerich, Evans; a brother, A. Clyde Marsh, Raleigh, N.C.; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bill Norvell, Creighton Laircey, Joe Blanchard, R. Cliff Poole, Mason Clements, Eugene S. Wolfe Jr., Keeble Lamberth and Lewis Coleman.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Trinity-on-the-Hill United Methodist Church softball team.
Memorials may be made to Augusta Rescue Mission or to United Methodist Church Children's Home.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Poteet Funeral Home, Wheeler Road.
