I guess the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was busy with the "Gonzalez house attack." That is why they missed the fact that the Augusta Canal has been drained for two months. Or did someone finally call to complain to the Corps that they could not put their rowboat in this "navigable" waterway? Way to go, Corps of Engineers.
First, it drains a perfectly good river for no reason except to ruin millions of dollars of personal and public property. And then it ties up the Augusta Canal Authority in typical government red tape.
I hope the canal authority sends the Corps a bill for doing its work, or at least dumps a load of the leftover silt in the Corps' headquarters parking lot.
