Mrs. Mary Mathis

TRENTON, S.C. - Mrs. Mary Alice Edwards Mathis, 87, of Church Street, died Monday, May 1, 2000, at her residence.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Mathis, a native of Johnston, was a homemaker. She was a former member of Country Gardeners Garden Club and a member of Episcopal Church of Our Savior.

Survivors include a son, Eugene C. Mathis Jr., Albany, Ga.; a daughter, Cathryn M. Brice, Trenton; a sister, Helen E. Herlong, Johnston; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Episcopal Church of Our Savior or to St. Joseph Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the residence.

Bland Funeral Home, Johnston, is in charge of arrangements.
