ATLANTA -- Mrs. Gertie Walker, 51, of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at Grady Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gordon Grove Baptist Church, Louisville, with the Rev. Allen Webb officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Walker, a native of Jefferson County, was a member of Gordon Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin Walker; three sons, Randy Murray, Augusta, and Clarence Mitchell and Rodney Mitchell, both of Atlanta; two daughters, Sharon Peavy and Florence Seon, both of Atlanta; her mother, Carrie Atkins, Louisville; six brothers, Donnie Atkins, Macon, Robert Atkins, Atlanta, and George Brown, John Henry Brown, David Brown and James Brown, all of Passiac, N.J.; six sisters, Julie Brown, Philadelphia, Lenora Brown, Passiac, Essie Gordon and Evelyn Howard, both of Louisville, and Rose Adams and Ronnie Westmoreland, both of Atlanta; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robert Atkins, Clarence Mitchell, Gary Martin, Troy Seon, William Monigan and Rodney Mitchell.
Friends may call at the residence of Carrie Atkins, 518 E. Fourth St., Louisville.
Garrer Funeral Home, Louisville, is in charge of arrangements.
