SECAUCUS, N.J. -- Parma of Italy and Benfica of Portugal will meet in an exhibition game at Giants Stadium next month as part of a doubleheader that will also include a New York-New Jersey MetroStars game, the MLS team announced Thursday.
The doubleheader on May 20 is one of four planned for this season, MetroStars general manager Nick Sakiewicz said.
The MetroStars will play the Tampa Bay Mutiny at 7 p.m. EDT on May 20, followed by Parma-Benfica.
On May 27th, New York-New Jersey will play the Chicago Fire, followed by a match between Colombia and Jamaica.
The third doubleheader will be on July 22 when the MetroStars play the Miami Fusion, followed by Luis Angel Firpo of El Salvador and Deportivo Cali of Colombia.
Haiti will play Honduras in the final exhibition on Aug. 20, after the MetroStars' match against the Colorado Rapids.
