Health tests

Vision and hearing tests, screenings and health tips will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Second Baptist Christian Preparatory School, 353 Laurens St., Aiken.

Aiken Public Safety, Life Link of Georgia and others will have information on display.

Drama to be staged

The drama Holy Is the Lamb of God will be presented at 3 p.m. today at Bible Deliverance Temple, 1857 Fenwick St.

The event is sponsored by Warriors for Jesus Outreach Ministry, the Body Ecology Shop and the church.

Searching for eggs

Servant of God Baptist Church will stage an Easter-egg hunt with games, treats and prizes at Savannah Place Recreation Department on Atlanta Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

Universal Ministries Christian Fellowship, which meets at Tobacco Road Elementary School, 2397 Tobacco Road, will give the first 125 children younger than 12 an Easter basket after 11 a.m. services Sunday. There also will be an Easter-egg hunt.

Keeping on their toes

Ron Jones of the Ron Jones Academy of Ballet choreographed some dances for Worship the Lamb, which will be staged at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at New Hope Church of God in Grovetown.

The company will preform Roar of Love, based on the C.S. Lewis story The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, at 8 p.m. May 12 and 13 at Bell Auditorium, 712 Telfair St. Tickets are $10 and $7.50 for students and senior citizens.

Annual meeting

The congregation of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 605 Reynolds St., will hold its 250th annual meeting at noon Monday, the time and date scheduled in its Colonial charter and articles of incorporation written after the Revolutionary War.

Soul brother

Recording artist Bryan Duncan will present Blue-eyed Soul at First Baptist Church of North Augusta, 602 Georgia Ave., at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Tickets are $8 and are available at area Christian bookstores and the church office. For information, call 279-6370.

Bridging the way

Bridge and lunch, door prizes and a Treasure Trove will be on deck at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, 471 W. Martintown Road in North Augusta, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.

Players should bring cards and tallies. Proceeds will benefit various ministries of the church. Tickets are $7. For information, call 279-4383.

Harmonizing sounds

The Brazells, Jimmy Murray and others will contribute their talents to Christian Harmony's Ninth Anniversary Sing at the Purvis Community Center on Georgia Highway 17 at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Concessions will be available.

Walk-a-thon set

Volunteers can get in step with the Augusta Urban Ministries Walk-a-thon at 303 Hale St. at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 29. Registration opens at 8 a.m.

There will be rest stops and concessions along the six-mile route.

Last year's event raised some $13,000, making it the ministry's most successful. Augusta Urban Ministries provides transitional housing and operates a furniture bank, the Community Kids Connection and the Pre-School Plus program.
