How unfortunate that The Augusta Chronicle chose to dwell on traffic congestion and restroom lines in its Sunday coverage of Skyfest 2000.
As a 35-year resident of the Central Savannah River Area, I find it disheartening that the newspaper cast such negativity on what I found to be a well-organized event.
Over the years we "locals" endure the very same problems each April with little likelihood of ever attending the related event. Finally there was also something for us.
I thank everyone who, in a hundred different ways, put out maximum effort in minimum time. I consider the volume of attendance as a measure of success rather than a drawback. Well done.
