Mrs. Carrie Willis Cumberlander, 68, of St. John's Towers, died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at University Hospital.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church, Detroit, with the Rev. Kenneth Flowers officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, Mount Clemens, Mich.
Mrs. Cumberlander, a native of LaFayette County, Ala., had retired as a schoolteacher from Detroit Board of Education and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and Greater Young Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
The family said: "Carrie was the kind of person that generated love for all. She was never a stranger, but friendly to all she came in contact with."
Survivors include three daughters, Cecilia Cumberlander Wright, Angela Cumberlander Watkins and Beverly Cumberlander, all of Augusta; six brothers, Lawrence Willis, Decatur, Walter Willis, Detroit, and Lovel Willis, Buford Willis, Josephus Willis and Earldine Willie, all of Lanett, Ala; two sisters, Raynell Marshall, Long Beach, Calif., and Hattie Freeman, Nashville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jason Wright, Daniel Watkins, Alfred Griggs Jr., David Watkins, Alfred Griggs and Gregory Huguley.
Friends may call at Davis Funeral Home, Louisville.
