Augusta's newest professional sports team opens its inaugural season this week.
The Augusta Stallions begins arenafootball2 play on Friday with a 7:30 p.m. game in Jacksonville, Fla., against the Tomcats.
A final roster has not been set by coach Mike Neu. However, quarterback Aaron Sparrow will lead the team into its opener.
Also, look for offensive/defensive linemen A.J. Blum and Matt Kinsinger, wide receiver/defensive backs J.J. McQueen and R. J. Anderson and kicker Kraig Baker to have an impact.
The Stallions will set the final roster on Monday, keeping 19 players on the active list and two on the inactive list.
Single-game tickets for the upcoming season go on sale at the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center box office on Monday at 10 a.m. Prices are $26 for tickets that are "In the action" (three rows closest to the field), $19 for "In the saddle" (lower level), $13 for end zone and $9 for "stable" (upper level).
Augusta opens it home season when it plays host to Jacksonville at 7:30 p.m. on April 21 at the civic center.
