Mr. Albert Strickland



STATESBORO, Ga. - Mr. Albert Courtney Strickland, 78, died Friday, March 31, 2000, at Bulloch Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Dr. Carlton Allen officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Memorial Park, Atlanta.

Mr. Strickland, a native of Camden, S.C., was an Army veteran of World War II and received the Soldiers Medal for Heroism. He had retired as regional sales finance manager from International Harvester Co. He was a member of Sandy Springs United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Albert C. Strickland Jr., Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Deborah Blackmon, Statesboro; his mother, Jessie Strickland, Claxton; a brother, W. James Strickland, Richmond, Va.; a sister, Doris Fries, Claxton; and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to American Lung Association, South Central, 5315 Greenbrook Drive, Charlotte, NC 28205.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
