Notes good wrought by fatal accident

I would like to say thank you to a wonderful person and his store. Out of a tragic accident came a deed of kindness that will undoubtedly save lives. Thank you Ed Luckey from Luck-Es Board Shop on Broad Street. We lost a teen-ager who loved this sport -- skateboarding. He died from injuries sustained in a skateboarding accident. No, he was not wearing a helmet, but Mr. Luckey is trying his best to change that for many others.

Mr. Luckey's caring and concern for our children will not go unnoticed. In this day of seeing shop owners out to make a buck off our children, it is indeed refreshing to see one assume responsibility for his sport. I will continue to support this store and will tell others to shop there.

I have to believe that some good will come from Michael Lantz's death. All of us will miss him, but will think of him every time we see our children with their helmets on as they continue to enjoy skateboarding. Thank you again, Mr. Lucky, for all of your help.
