WAYNESBORO, Ga. - Mr. Dimetri C. Roberts Sr., 33, of Cherry Street, died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at University Hospital, Augusta.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Grove African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, Sardis, with the Rev. Calvin Gunn Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Lovette Cemetery, Sylvania.
Mr. Roberts, a native of Burke County, was a textile worker. He was a graduate of Sardis-Girard-Alexander High School, Sardis, and a member of Pleasant Grove African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.
The family said: "Dimetri was a loving son, husband and father who will be greatly missed by his sisters, brother, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. We'll miss you."
Survivors include his wife, Angel Roberts; a son, Dimetri Roberts Jr., Waynesboro; six daughters, Dimetria Roberts, Breontay Roberts, McKimberly Roberts, Kasaye Roberts, Perry Roberts and Lachondra Roberts, all of Waynesboro; his father, Charles Gillette, Florida; his mother, Lola Gillette, Waynesboro; a brother, Francoise Roberts, Sardis; three sisters, Japonica Gillette and Charlinthia Gillette, both of Sardis, and Denise Gillette, Waynesboro; and his paternal grandmother, Lizzie Jane Gillette, Miami.
Pallbearers will be Chris Bonner, Dexter Harper, Don Lee Washington, Charlie Oliver, Patrick Nelson, Kenny Dixon and Frank Walker.
