SPARTA, Ga. - Mr. William Henry "Bootney" Warren, of Georgia Route 6, died Thursday, March 16, 2000, at Hancock Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at noon Tuesday at Hunt's Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Johnny L. Sanders officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Warren, a native of Sparta, had retired as a farmer and a master barber. He was the former owner and operator of Warren's Barber Shop. He was a member of Hunt's Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where he was a class leader, steward and trustee.
The family said: "His barber shop in Sparta was the local `watering hole' for the male jet set. For the latest news and a laugh or two, Warren's Barber Shop was the place to be."
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Wise Warren; a son, Ralph Wise Warren, Sparta; a brother, Alfred Warren, Orlando, Fla.; three sisters, Ruby Weeks, Far Rockaway, N.Y., Eleanor Rucker, Hempstead, N.Y., and Annie Rucker, Baltimore; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 6:30 p.m. today at Hancock County Youth Center and after the funeral in the church annex.
